The first Asia Optical Fiber Communication & Optoelectronic
Exposition & Conference (AOE) took place in Shanghai over a very
successful four days in September of 2005, despite just six-months
preparation time. One hundred and twenty companies displayed their
products in 115,000 square feet of exhibition space. Attending the
exhibition were 3200 registered visitors.
These visitors could also choose from 80 peer-reviewed technical
talks, including plenary addresses, panel discussions, workshops and
poster sessions (all held in English).
Presiding over the AOE 2005 Conference were general chairs Chen
Yixin (of Bookham and Shanghai Jiaotong University), Cai Bo (JDS
Uniphase) and Jin Ruxiang (Zhejiang University and Zhejiang
Photonics Research Center.)
